Song of the month (XI)

The new song of the month follows the same thoughts that I shared on my previous post. For the last month I have had some new, interesting and creative work experiences that have provided me with great professional knowledge and, more importantly, huge personal satisfaction. Even if these opportunities have not been paid, they are definitely a step closer to my dream job and my professional ambitions, and I have truly enjoyed them!

I like to think that it is never too late to change your life path, both personally and professionally. Hard work, tenacity and resilience are key for success; however, very often the most important thing is to be able to recognise the right opportunities and seize them, which sometimes we fail to do. Once you get started, the journey might even open your eyes and change your mind, making you realise what you really want in life and what the next steps are to fulfil your goals. "You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, well, you might find what you need."

“You can’t always get what you want” by The Rolling Stones is this month’s pick – a great song with an inspiring chorus.

YOU CAN’T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU WANT
(written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards)

I saw her today at the reception
A glass of wine in her hand
I knew she was gonna meet her connection
At her feet was a footloose man

You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes well you might find
You get what you need

And I went down to the demonstration
To get my fair share of abuse
Singing, "We're gonna vent our frustration
If we don't we're gonna blow a 50-amp fuse"

You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes well you just might find
You get what you need

I went down to the Chelsea drugstore
To get your prescription filled
I was standing in line with Mr. Jimmy
And man, did he look pretty ill
We decided that we would have a soda
My favorite flavor, cherry red
I sung my song to Mr. Jimmy
Yeah, and he said one word to me, and that was "dead"
I said to him

You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You get what you need

I saw her today at the reception
In her glass was a bleeding man
She was practiced at the art of deception
Well I could tell by her blood-stained hands

You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you just might find
You just might find
You get what you need
