Random notes (IV)

I tried to understand. I really did. I tried to sew it, glue it, tie it, hide it. For days, for months, for years. But then I realised there is nothing to be understood. Trust is not meant to be broken. Hearts are not meant to be broken. People are not meant to be broken. Full stop.

Random notes (III)

To Joaquín.

To a true friend.

It’s almost exactly ten years since we first met, and only one week since you left. The last ten years have flown by, the last week seems like an eternity. You always looked after me even if you didn't have to. You always accepted me just the way I am, and that I will never forget. I wonder what you're doing up there. Can you see me? Can you see us? I have no doubt you’re still playing the guitar like only you can do it. Hendrix and company must be very impressed with you. I carry so many special memories with me... I will never stop feeling your support and affection. Thanks for being my friend.

I can’t believe you won’t be there any more every time I go back home.

Sorrow can’t be put into words.

Random notes (II)

Some people think that you should let things happen, that you should just let time pass and things will eventually become better with hardly any effort on your side. Others tell you to work hard, not to just sit and wait but to actually make things happen, to do your best and you will finally get what you want.

But what if none of these two options work at all? I want to believe that there is a Plan C. There just has to be...

Random notes (I)

After months of tedious arguments, he left a note very early in the morning just before leaving for a working trip:

“Don’t forget that tonight clocks will go forward an hour – you’ll sleep one hour less!

I love you!!!”

And, when she saw it, she knew that the purpose of leaving that note had nothing to do with reminding her about the time change, but he had put his heart and soul in those last three words of hope.
